Indian Police Service or I.P.S. – Limited Competitive Examination, 2012.


The Union Public Service Commission or U.P.S.C. will be conducting the Indian Police Service or I.P.S. – Limited Competitive Examination, 2012 at 7 Centers on 20th, 21st & 22nd May 2012 [Sunday, Monday & Tuesday] .  All candidates found eligible have been e-Admit Cards through Post.  Candidates may also download the e-Admit Card from the Commission’s Website at http://www.upsc.gov.in  Letter of rejection stating the reasons for rejection have also been issued by the Union Public Service Commission or U.P.S.C.  If any candidate has not obtained either e-Admit Card or rejection letter the case may be, he / she may contact UPSC Facilitation Counter near Gate ‘C’ of UPSC Campus in person or on Telephone No.s 011-23385271 / 011-23381125 / 011-23098543 on all working days between 10.00 Hours to 17.00 Hours.  The candidates may also send fax messages on Fax No. 011-23387310.

Candidates whose e-Admit Cards do not bear their photographs are advised to paste their photograph on e-Admit Card and get the same attested by a Gazetted Officer.  They may carry the same for admission at the center of their examination.  They should also carry with them proof of their identity such as office Identity card / Driving Licence / Voter Identity Card etc. to the venue of their examination. 

Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards – 2011.


Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Department of Youth Affairs, invites applications / nominations, for Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards in the field of Land, Water and Air Adventure as well as for Life Time Adventure Awards.  The last date for submission of application / nomination is 15/05/2012.  The total text of the Scheme of Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards and the format of the application can be accessed / downloaded from the Ministry’s Website: www.yas.nic.in  The eligible interested persons / organizations are requested to submit their application / nomination through the concerned Secretary to the State Government / Union Territory Administration dealing with the subject of Youth Affairs / Organizations mentioned in the Ministry’s D.O. Letter No. 3-2/2012-NPYAD dated: 10/4/2012 [available on this Ministry’s website], so as to reach the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India by 15/05/2012.

University Grants Commission is situated at Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi – 110002.  University Grants Commission has announced 300 Post Doctoral Fellowships for Indian Scholars in United States under Singh-Obama 21st Century Knowledge Initiative – 2012.  The University Grants Commission invites applications for 300 Post Doctoral Fellowships for Indian Scholars in United States for the year 2012 under Singh-Obama 21st Century Knowledge initiative 2012.  The applicant should be a permanent teacher within 40 years of age as on December 31, 2012, in an institution recognized under 2[f] and 12B of U.G.C. Act and should possess a Ph.D. Degree in the respective field.  Details of the scheme can be accessed from www.ugc.ac.in

The applications in the prescribed format may be submitted only through online mode latest by 11th July 2012 [non-extendable] by logging into website: www.ugc.ac.in/pdfindous/  Application submitted only through online mode shall be entertained and no application submitted in hard copy shall be entertained or considered for the Award in any circumstances whatsoever.  Record of the non-selected candidates shall not be preserved beyond 3 months from the date of declaration of results.  The decision of the Commission with regard to the selection of the candidates for the award shall be final.
