Civil Services Examination Free Coaching by Government of Tamil Nadu.

Those who have applied for the Civil Services Examination from Tamil Nadu can apply for this Special Coaching Program by Government of Tamil Nadu. Generally, the coaching starts from the month of December every year and will last for 6 months. Those who have already undergone Coaching under this Program and those who have already appeared for the Civil Services [Main] Examination can not participate in this program.

This coaching program has got 2 streams i.e. Full time and Part time. Following are the number of seats available for the program under full time and part time:

Backward Class: Full time - 42 seats and Part time - 21.

Backward Class in Christians and Muslims: Full time - 6 each and Part time - 3 each.

Most Backward Class and De-notified: Full time - 36 and Part time - 18.

Others: Full time - 10 and Part time - 5.

Scheduled Caste: Full time - 98 and Part time - 49.

Scheduled Tribe: Full time - 2 and Part time - 1.

Eligibility Conditions:

A Degree from a recognized University of India.

Age should be between 21 years to 30 years. For S.C. / S.T., the maximum age limit shall be 35 years. For other Backward Class, the maximum age limit shall be 33 years.

Fees:

General Category candidates only will have to pay the fees.

No fees for rest of the Category candidates, Subject to the condition that their parental income should not exceed Rs.1 Lakh per annum. If the Income exceeds this limit, they will have to pay a part of the fees.

Those who wish to join Part time will not have Hostel facility. For the Optional subject, they will have to pay fees. Part time coaching will be conducted from 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM.

How to apply:

The eligibility for this coaching program will be decided by a Common Entrance Examination. This Common Entrance Examination will be conducted at Chennai, Chidambaram, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Salem, Tanjore, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Vellore and Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu.

This Common Entrance Examination will consist of only objective type questions. The questions will be from Indian Polity, Economics, Geography, General Science and Current Affairs. This Common Entrance Examination is likely scheduled for the month of November.

Recruitment of Engineers by T.N.P.S.C.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission or T.N.P.S.C. is the prime recruiting agency for Government of Tamilnadu. T.N.P.S.C. has announced the recruitment of Engineers. This recruitment is being done in 7 streams and has 661 vacancies.

Streams of Recruitment: -

[1] Assistant Engineer [Civil] - Water Resources Organization - Public Works Department or P.W.D.;

[2] Assistant Engineer [Civil] - Building Organization - Public Works Department or P.W.D.;

[3] Assistant Engineer [Electrical] - Public Works Department or P.W.D.;
[4] Assistant Engineer - Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department;

[5] Assistant Engineer [Civil] - Highways Department;

Eligibility conditions: -

Age:

As on 01/07/2010, the candidate's age should be below 30 years. There are age relaxation available from the maximum age limit for S.C. / S.T. / M.B.C. category candidates. There are certain conditions for applying for these posts with reference to the candidates who have worked in Central / State Governments for more than 5 years.

Educational Qualification:

For applying to the post of Assistant Engineer [Electrical] - Public Works Department or P.W.D., a candidate should have completed B.E. in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics from any one of the recognized Universities of India or the candidate should have completed Section 'A' and 'B' examinations in Electrical Engineering conducted by Institutions Engineering, subject to certain conditions.

For applying to the post of Assistant Engineer - Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, a candidate should have completed B.E. in Civil Engineering or Civil and Structural Engineering from any one of the recognized ies of India or the candidate should have completed Section 'A' and 'B' examinations in Civil Engineering conducted by Institutions Engineering, subject to certain conditions.

For applying to the post of Assistant Engineer [Civil] - Highways Department, a candidate should have completed B.E. in Civil Engineering or Civil and Structural Engineering from any one of the recognized Universities of India or the candidate should have completed Section 'A' and 'B' examinations in Civil Engineering conducted by Institutions Engineering, subject to certain conditions.

For applying to the post of Assistant Inspector of Factories, a candidate should have completed B.E. in the following Engineering streams: Production, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Textile Technology from any one of the recognized Universities of India.

For applying to the post of Junior Electrical Engineer, a candidate should have completed B.E. in Electrical from any one of the recognized Universities of India.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of Written Examination and Personality Test or Interview. The written examination will be held on 24/10/2010.

The written examination will be held in Tamilnadu at the following places: Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Tirunelveli, Salem, Tanjore, Nagercoil, Karaikudi, Chidambaram, Pudukottai, Kancheepuram, Ramanathapuram, Ooty, Vellore.

The applications of T.N.P.S.C. can not be obtained by post. To get applications, a candidate should approach designated Post Offices in Tamilnadu. Candidates can apply through online method also. To purchase the application from the designated Post Offices, a candidate has to pay Rs.125/- + Rs.30/-.
