How to get select as V.A.O. in T.N.P.S.C. Examination conducted in Tamilnadu?

The Private Sector has tightened it's recruitment due to the recent global recession.  This has paved way for the youngster's interest in Government Jobs.

It is obvious that Private Sector has more openings for recruitment than Public Sector or Government.  Those who have thought that Private Sector has got better career opportunity than Government, are now turning out for Government Jobs.  That is why for just 2500 V.A.O. Posts, nearly 12 Lakh applicants are in the queue now.

Just writing Competitive examinations alone will not fetch you a Government Job.  Proper Practice, Hard work, Persistence and Self Confidence are the keys of getting a Government Job.

Proper planning before appearing for any competitive examination is a must.  The V.A.O. examination consists of two papers viz., General knowledge or General Awareness and One language paper either General English or General Tamil. Those who are ready to put their Hard work may reap the success.

Plan of Examination:

As you know by this time, this V.A.O. Examination consists of 2 papers.  Both papers will be of Objective type questions.

First paper is General Knowledge or General Awareness.  This paper will have 100 questions each carrying 1.5 marks.  The questions will be from Science, History, Polity, Geography, Tamil, Mathematics.  The total marks will be 150 from this paper.

Second paper will be General English or General Tamil which are language papers.  A candidate can choose either English or Tamil as their elective and can answer this paper.  This paper will have 100 questions each carrying 1.5 marks. The total marks will be 150 from this paper.

The time limit for answering both these papers will be of 3 hours.  It is presumed that if only a candidate gets at least 90 marks out of 300 marks [combined for two papers], there is a chance that he can qualify for the next level of this examination.   An applicant has to mention the language paper he has chosen in column 22 of the application for V.A.O. Examination.

Syllabus

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission or T.N.P.S.C. has mentioned that the question papers will be of 10th Standard level.

General Science or General Awareness:

The questions will be generally from Basic Science, History, Geography, Economy and Commerce, Polity, Indian National Movement, Current Affairs, Analytical Ability.  Special questions related only to Tamil Nadu are also expected.

General Tamil:

It is expected that many applicants will only choose this elective paper during the examination.  The questions will be of 10th standard level and will be consisting of Matching, Famous Books, Famous Authors, Famous Titles, Synonyms and Antonyms, Singular and Plural, Translation, etc.

General English:

The questions for this paper will be from Synonyms and Antonyms, Prefix and Suffix, Tense, Fill in the blanks, Basic Grammar.  This paper will also be of 10th standard level.
